In MOTU Classics you will see a character who had a figure (toy) in the 1981 MOTU line, 1985 POP line, 1989 NA line as well as characters who were in the 200X series TV show or toy line. We can also do figures who were in the Mattel Mini Comics.

How a second Prince Adam will be offered is yet to be revealed. After all, we haven’t even offered one version yet. Unlike say with the case of Zodac/Zodak, Prince Adam is the same guy. It is just a “design” difference if you prefer him as a teen or a repaint of He-Man. So the bios will be just a continuation of one another as they aren’t intended to be separate characters.

Matty: The limits on DCUC figure are related to package size at retail, not how big a figure could be. With Mattycollector.com, we could ideally sell a figure at any size in a unique package, if there was enough fan demand for one.

More 2010 figures will be shown at Collector Night on February 14th at New York Toy Fair.

The plan is for Wun-Dar and the map are slated to ship in February!

5) I'd say that the He-Man and Skeletor reissues were a success. We know Beastman is on his way back. That said, is there any info on future MOTUC reissues? (Please say Stratos and King Grayskull!)

Yes, we do have plans to re-release some of the 2009 figures, but not all. Grayskull should be out again on a single card but not until the end of 2010. He will, however, have slight paint and accessory changes to differentiate him from the SDCC release!

This is a very cool idea and something we have discussed at Mattel. As the line extends into 2010 and beyond, we may just look into these types of possibilities and maybe add A-List bonus figures on a quarterly basis. What do you fans think? Would you prefer a Battle Armor Faker over* say, Dragon Blaster Skeletor as an A-list update? What say you?

2. Mr. Rant asks: Recently, Toy Guru gave He-Man.Org members the chance to weigh-in on the solution to the female MOTUC figures neck stability, but both choices would take something away from the figure. If the joint works successfully on the male figures, why can’t that technique be applied to the female figures? For my part, I can’t see a good reason to limit the articulation on a $20 figure.

The female neck is too thin to make the head both removable and fully articulated.

Cool Toy Review: If/when you re-release Mer-Man might he be packaged wearing the alternate head? Seems like a win-win with MOC collectors and making him different from the original release.

Mattel: All of the re-releases for the Mattycollector.com line will have the same packout (it's a logistic thing). If we bring the line to retail (perhaps in a movie year) we will look at offering some existing figures on new packages and with modified decos and/or accessories and in new packouts. Ideally, even if the line goes to retail with some reissues it will continue with new figures on MattyCollector.com.

2. Will Toy Guru still have some involvement in the DCUC, MOTUC and GB lines next year even though he is moving over to Green Lantern? One of the things that has been so nice about these lines is the consistency they have, some are nervous that might change going into next year.

Yes! While Toy Guru will be focusing on the Green Lantern movie line for the next year he will continue to manage MOTUC (its kinda been his pet project and he refused to let that go!) and he will act as an advisor on DCU and GB brands, especially in terms of fan relations and character selection. Maniac Mike Wilde will be taking over day-to-day management, but he sits right next to Scott and they work very close together.

5. Now that the MOTUC Zodak and Goddess figures have sold out in quick form, can you say with certainty now that the Bonus Figure program will continue into 2010?

The bonus figures were actually less of a “bonus” and intended more as our own “insurance” that at least one new figure would be available each month for subscribers. Faker was scheduled to be the first “bonus” figure, but since Mer-Man ran late, Faker needed to move into a monthly slot. We will have 3-4 additional figures (beyond the 12 monthly figures) in 2010 which will ship as “bonus” figures once per quarter if all of the main monthly figures run on time. If any monthly figures slip schedule, the “bonus” figure will be moved into that slot to make sure at least one new figure is available for subscribers or those buying that month. Going forward, all of the additional backup (or “bonus”) figures will be updates to A-List characters such as Battle Armor He-Man in Jan.
