Un saludo!!

Re: [PELÍCULA] "Voltron"
Several production companies are vying for the rights to produce a live-action movie version of ‘Voltron’ – could this be the end of the property’s long journey to the big screen?
Hollywood has been attempting to launch a big-screen version of Voltron for several years, but complexities surrounding who exactly owned the rights to the property have prevented it from moving forward. After numerous false starts, it appears that all of the legal red tape has been cut and plans for the film may finally come to fruition.
Back in September, we learned that Atlas Entertainment was still determined to deliver a live-action Voltron movie. Producers Charles Roven & Richard Suckle had recently hired screenwriters Thomas Dean Donnelly & Joshua Oppenheimer (Conan, Doctor Strange) to take a crack at the material and some leaked concept art showcased the potential of their approach.
At the time, Atlas was still trying to secure financing for the project, but the aforementioned legal entanglements were making that process difficult. According to Vulture, that obstacle has been cleared and several interested parties are now in a bidding war for the film rights to Voltron.
The major hurdle the project had to overcome actually dates back to the creation of the original Voltron cartoon. Peter Keefe created the series by combining material he had licensed from two Japanese anime series – Beast King GoLion and Armored Fleet Dairugger XV. He dubbed in new dialogue & music and the show became an unexpected international success.
Although World Events Productions owned Voltron, the company behind the original Japanese shows (Toei Animation Co.) felt they deserved a share of the profits. World Events managed to obtain the full rights to Voltron in 2000, but once Hollywood came calling about a potential film franchise, Toei showed up once again insisting that their previous agreement did not include movie rights.
Evidently, a new deal
Regardless of the direction the rights take, Vulture notes that a feature will most likely be fast-tracked to hit by 2013 or 2014 to take advantage of the property's 30th anniversary.

Re: [PELÍCULA] "Voltron"
Espero que sí se concrete. De verdad que espero que no sea un caso más víctima de los malos acuerdos debido a la avaricia de las empresas... Esta franquicia tiene mucho que dar.

Relativity Media and Atlas Entertainment are teaming on a live-action adaptation of the 1980s animated series "Voltron: Defender of the Universe."
Relativity optioned feature film rights to "Voltron" from World Event Prods. after Atlas brought the project to the studio.
Series followed an elite battle force comprised of five young warriors who defend mankind by piloting a battalion of high-tech Robot Lions that have the ability to join together to form a megaweapon known as Voltron.
Thomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer will write the action-adventure project, which Atlas will shepherd.
Atlas principals Charles Roven and Richard Suckle will produce along with Jason Netter of Kickstart Entertainment, while Ted Koplar of World Events Prods. will exec produce.
The original series, based on the Japanese anime properties Beast King GoLion and Kikou Kantai Dairugger XV, aired in the U.S. for two years and spawned NickToons' successful TV series "Voltron Force," which became the channel's highest-rated debut this past June.
"For nearly three decades, Voltron has captured the minds of a nostalgically loyal and rabid fan base and has long been considered a hotly pursued project," said Relativity's Tucker Tooley. "We are beyond excited World Event Productions and Atlas Entertainment have placed their trust and faith in Relativity to bring this coveted property to the bigscreen, and usher in a new generation of devoted fans. With Chuck and Richard's experience producing tentpoles, they are the perfect producers to bring this potential franchise to theaters."
"It's incredibly gratifying to officially announce the development of the live-action Voltron movie this week, given its recent resurgence and the start of Comic-Con," said Roven.
The "Voltron" property is making a big foray at Comic-Con, touting a new toy line and the animated TV series on NickToons.
UTA repped World Events Prods. in the deal.
